"My Pretty Maple Leaf" (framed)

I am a member of the Minnesota Mosaic Guild and we have several challenges throughout the year.  This little gem was a "leaf" challenge and I am delighted with how this turned out.  I used only 2 pieces of glass, both of which had varying depth and color.  I applied the glass on top of mirror so when the light hits the red glass just right, light reflects from inside giving this lovely leaf an added layer of dimension.

I also used grout lines intentionally to create the veins of the leaf, which moss green grout, highlighted beautifully!
